Our Story

Fine food, gracious hospitality, and a pioneering spirit. These are all aspects that we have taken from our cultural background to bring you one of the most unique experiences that you will encounter. We hope you enjoy your journey with us at Rabbath.

Our family escaped war torn Lebanon during the civil war of 1975 and settled in Australia. Like many before us seeking a peaceful life, Australia welcomed us with open arms, and right from the moment we arrived we called this beautiful, sacred land our home.

Our family escaped war torn Lebanon during the civil war of 1975 and settled in Australia. Like many before us seeking a peaceful life, Australia welcomed us with open arms, and right from the moment we arrived we called this beautiful, sacred land our home.

Our passion in cuisine became part of our everyday life while growing up in Australia. The Syrian and Lebanese backgrounds in our parents’ heritage meant we were influenced by world-class cuisine and culture.

Our background is very individualistic, ‘showing off’ what we know with a great sense of humility. It is through the meal that we would express our generosity and hospitality. Before every meal we would give thanks, then say to each other “sahtain!” which loosely translated from Lebanese means “may you enjoy it in double health!”. It was not simply about the meal but also about the people. It was an experience to have a meal at the Rabbath household.

That is our life. We love to eat. We love to serve. We share all we have. Regardless of whether it is through a simple cup of coffee or an elaborate multi-course meal, it is the journey that matters most.

A warm welcome to our newest member of the Rabbath team, Liezl Rabbath. Liezl recently married Pascal and immigrated from South Africa and calls this beautiful sun-kissed land her home too. She works closely with Patrick in preparing all the Lebanese cuisine we serve, and excels in customer service.

What Our Customers Say

Colleen B

The food was so delicious we forgot to take photos! Every mouthful was beautifully spiced and so flavoursome. Liezl was warm and attentive and ensured our evening was very enjoyable, guiding our selections and even remembering our names. Where does that happen anymore? We opted for the meyzah and share plates including the delicious m’jadara, falafel, kafta and fabulous tabouleh and so pleased with our choices. All plates were polished clean! Wine, a glass of aniseed raki as a palate cleanser, then we finished with the sublime Fin’jan ahweh, spiced coffee with rosewater sweet delight morsels. So glad we indulged! There are limited seats so I would recommend booking in advance. Quietly elegant, refined flavours, quality food and exceptional service. A great find. Thank you for a lovely evening

We ate here for the first time last week, and the food and service was phenomenal! If you want good quality Lebanese food, you won’t find any better! We had the banquet and chose the lamb as our main-seriously so good! Our waitress Liesel was lovely and recommended the most delicious white wine, and kept us informed and entertained. Make sure you book, as seating is limited. Can’t wait to go back!

We had the most amazing meal of really delicious authentic Lebanese food. The service was incredible, Patrick is so welcoming, it felt we were guests in his home in such a lovely small restaurant. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the meal as much as the adults The restaurant also catered for our vegetarian & coeliac family members. Not only is the food excellent, but a great wine list. I look forward to the next time we visit Burleigh, Rabbath will be the first stop.

We enjoyed a great meal at Rabbath. Staff are exceptional, service is great and food was fantastic. Staff are happy to spend time with you explaining meal options etc and nothing was to much trouble. Would definitely visit again and again.

From the moment I walked in, I knew we were in great hands! Greeted with a familiar smile by Leizel. I’ve been here a few times before and defiantly loved bringing the parents to try this wonderful place for the first time. We had a dining experience that would rate 10/10.

This is a sparkling, immaculate little bistro that serves delectable Lebanese sharing plates – each just delightful. Lovely selection of wines by the glass and some of the most personal and attentive service you will ever encounter from owner Patrick.
